I use Gmail every day and just found this page with amazingly useful search operators. Have a look below. It is really helpful even for doing things like finding emails before a certain date still in my inbox and then archiving them.

My search ended up being: “in:inbox before:2016/01/01”
Just type the above without the quotation marks in to the search box in Gmail and see what happens. More search operators below.

A question I get often: “Do I need to patent my new idea?”
Here is my personal thoughts on patents.
Can you get a patent?
First up if you can’t get a one it does not help worrying about it. Is your idea unique? Is it something that you can actually get a patent on? Has it ever been done before? A good idea is to do a search online. Google has a good patent search engine that will give you a good first idea. The South African Patent Office also has an online search engine. Firstly let me begin by saying that WordPress and WordPress.com although related is not the same thing. WordPress (found at WordPress.org) is the software. WordPress.com is a company and is an internet (website) hosting company that uses a specific (in most cases a more limited) version of the software which has the same name. All you need to know is that in most cases the best solution is to use the WordPress software installed on your own server at a dependable hosting company. (more…)

I have come across this problem way to often when taking on new customers:
They don’t own their domain name
This is the scenario. I take on a new customer and they want a new website designed. A few years ago they paid someone for their first website. I check the domain and see that it is not registered in the business or owner’s name. They previous web design guy or web hosting company has registered the domain in their name. (more…)
